All I want for Christmas is………..

Oh Santa, I have been a very very very good girl this year! Now I want some fly shi*t! lol. I’m joking, but of course I’m really not. I was sitting around my apartment the other day thinking of all the great things that I would like to treat my hardworking self to for Christmas. This season has been torture for a shopaholic like myself because the sales are TO DIE FOR!!!! However my finances are not, so I have crafted this little list of things that I could use to make my life in the Big Apple a little bit sweeter. Some things I will get, others I won’t get anytime soon, but here are my must haves/must gets for ‘09:
Spin Shoes. I have started spinning at Equinox and find it addictive. I love getting up at the ass crack of dawn and trekking on down to Columbus Circle for my hour of blood, sweat, and tears to the beat of bad techno music and instructors screaming “ONE MORE HILL!” It doesn’t do it for everyone, but it gets me going in the morning. My track shoes don’t fit into the straps very well, and so I think these babies could make life a little bit easier…..

Lanvin Ballet Flats. Before you even go there, yes I know they cost too damn much. And I don’t care b/c these suckers are comfortable, stylish, and classic. The money is well spent because you could wear these shoes forever and they’ll always be in style. I saw a black satin pair and just drooled.
Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Speedy (Black). Hey, I like nice shit. Sue me. I love this bag. It goes with everything, it’s just the right size, I love the craftsmanship, and it’s just so damn PRETTY!!!!
Tag Heuer Watch.
Burberry Scarf.
Macbook Pro.
Le Cruset Cookware. I promised myself that in ‘09 I was going to get back into the kitchen spend more time dedicated to what I love the most – cooking. What better way to kick off my reintroduction to culinary bliss?
Forgetting Sarah Marshall on DVD. The movie that takes me out of a bad mood because it is really just that damn funny. A must have for those sucky weather days here in NYC.
Work out gear. I never seem to have enough.
Membership to Young Patrons of Lincoln Center.

Yorkie (prenamed Sebastian Bach). Now with my job going the way that it is, my hours being crazy and our apartment barely being big enough to contain us, I know this is a long shot. But I really want a yorkie, and eventually will have one dammit! And he will be stylish just like this…..

You already know! WOWZAH!!!! He was, is, and will forever be my questionable crush. But I don’t care what the naysayers think. Check out the sessiness that is Maxwell…..

Wellies. The weather here is typically mild, but when it rains it really gets gross. Rather than ruin my perfectly good shoes in the weather, I want a pair of these cute little rubber boots. And let’s not forget the thick socks to keep them warm!

A good substitute, or just all around cute shoe to make the rainy days more fun is the Kate Spade rubber flat. They come in different patterns, but these remind me of my childhood prepster days in Shaker.

Louis Vuitton Weekend Bag. Because this is the perfect size, and it’s a classic. I love to travel so it’ll get plenty of use, and this bag will NEVER go out of style.

David Yurman. I’ve busted my tail for years with school, work, more school, and nowadays definitely more work. I don’t have a Mr. Big, so I’ll be Ms. Big and buy jewelry for my damn self. I’ve been eyeing this ring for a while now. Anniversary gift for my new career perhaps? Hmmmm…

And because you absolutely CANNOT leave the ring all by it’s lonesome……

Leather Gloves. Now I have seen several pairs that are really nice. These stood out to me because the colors are right up my alley, and they are pretty stylish.

Sabon. Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a products girl. I love all kinds from face creams to gels. You name it, I’ve tried it. If you’ve been keeping up with this blog you will know that I became a Sabon addict after only about 2 weeks in the city. The bath soak and bubbles is FANTASTIC, and if you follow up with the salt scrub there is no need to leave the house. You will curl up and fall fast asleep with your silky smooth smell good skin.
A clutch. I don’t go out very often, but when I do I would like to have a nice eye catching clutch that could go with just about anything. I’ve seen several, and I figure if you’re going to get one, get a fabulous, slightly over the top one give you that extra umph. This one by Carlos Fachi has it baby! And the color is right up my alley. I’m a pretty girl for life folks!

Coco Chanel Perfume. I love smell goods, and I wear a few different ones. Stella McCartney when I want something light and girly…..Narcisso Rodriguez when I want something sexy. But Chanel is a classic. You can never go wrong. And in fact, I will wear this perfume with simple jeans, a white fitted t-shirt and ballet flats – it still works. Moral to the story is that you can never go wrong when you invite Coco to the party. I need another bottle. The smell just makes me smile.

Cole Haan Saddle Bag (purple). I love the color, and the style is so simple that it works for work and play. Another item that I have been considreing for months now.
Mackage Coat. It’s time for a new coat, and this time I want to get something that’ll last me for a long, long time. I could go back to BR, but I want a Mackage! The same way you go to Burberry for a great trench and Cole Haan for a great loafer, you go to Mackage for great wool or leather outerwear. The detailing is awesome, and the fit is perfect for someone w/ a waist and hips like mine. I figured this would be a purchase that would have to wait a while, but thanks to the Bloomingdale’s sale this may happen sooner rather than later. It’s not every day that these babies are 40% off. Go gitcha one!

Tom Ford ‘Charles’ Aviator Shades. These things just scream “swagger” to me. lol. They fit the face just right, and like most of my favorite things – they are classics. Of course they can wait considering I don’t plan to prance around in a thunderstorm with shades on. But I have my eye on these. Chloe has some mean ones this season too. Damn and during a recession?!

Ugg Slippers. I saw them in the store and thought they had to be the biggest waste of money ever. I tried one on and shut the hell up. lol. They are soooooo warm, and sooo comfortable, and soooo cute on. Perfect for those nights when I say I’m going to do something, but change my mind once SNL comes on. Also great for Sunday cooking sessions!

Soft Flannel Pajamas. Hell, why have the comfy shoes without the comfy jammies to go with them? I considered the onesies with the feet attached, but I am turning 30 soon and there is no chapter in the book of womanhood that tells me it’s okay to wear those at this age. Moving on people, ‘09 is going to be a good year. No need to hold on to elementary school!

Yoga Mat. After months of participating in Gordon Sharpe’s yoga classes, I think it’s time to get my own. For one, there are days when I can’t make it but I still need the time to meditate and get centered. In addition, the whole shared mat concept is starting to seem kind of gross now that I realize people sweat all through the gym and do not think to wipe these down.

Down Bedding. I shouldn’t even have to say why, just look at the picture. I think anyone who is getting up everyday and maintaining in the midst of this shitty economy should get some. The only problem would be getting out of bed. I’m dozing off just looking at them. lol.
West Elm Cable Knit Pillows. These really are a great accessory for the house. I love the muted colors and the cozy feel of these. Would love to get some for my room.

West Elm Lutz and Patmos Cable Throw Blanket. Like the pillows, these throws are really warm and inviting. A great accessory to have around the house. Although I don’t think these and a hyper little Yorkie would mix. But since he’s not here, I want one.

Continuous Progress in Getting my Body and Spirit Right. No need to dive too deep into this, but just know that everyday is different. Some are really, while others are a breeze. I am striving to keep up the work, and to maintain despite the low moments because the high ones are so much greater.

Porsche Cayenne. My dream car. The interior is sexy, the exterior is sleek. I never really paid much attention to these until I sat in one. After that it was love……

Look at the steering wheel…..just sexy.

A Home. Not just any home. I want a Spanish style, cozy one with plenty of big windows and tiled floors for me to decorate the way that I like and just relax in. A sanctuary, where all the chaos of life slowly disappears. It doesn’t have to be huge, really just big enough for me and Sebastian……………………and Maxwell (or Common). Most importantly, one I can afford!

Now this list is all in fun. Don’t get me wrong, I AM gonna get most if not all of these things at some point in the future. But I enjoy day dreaming, especially in times like this. And while material things alone do not make me happy, I won’t lie to you and pretend that they don’t at least put a smile on my face every now and then. But I like my simple things too. I read a lot, I love renting movies at home and cooking for one, and a bottle of wine is always a great gift to give. I’m just grateful for the things that I have been blessed with in life and look forward to enjoying my first Christmas in New York City. More to come……still have plenty of pics and events to dish about. Happy Holidays!
